Even though when I grew up these TV stars and shows were only in reruns, I still remember watching them. I do remember the age of black and white television and the days before cable. I remember when there was one TV in the house and it was in the living room.I absolutely loved watching those old shows like Andy Griffith and Gomer Pyle. In fact, my son likes watching them today on ME TV.
So, it was really cool to get some insight on some of the legendary actors who made those shows come to life. My favorite interview was the one with Jim Nabors. I learned a lot about his time with Andy Griffith and it actually cleared up a few misconceptions I had about how long he was on that show before Gomer Pyle.
The dialog was well written and it really feels like you are sitting there listening to the author talk to these actors.

LIVING ROOM LEGENDS Chats with TV Famous Faces edition by Eddie Lucas Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews
This was so much fun to read! I was anxiously awaiting a follow up after reading Eddie Lucas' "Closeups" book a couple of years ago. Reading the tales from these famous celebrities brought back so many childhood memories for me. Even though we may all come from different walks of life, television is one thing that can bind us together. Eddie does an incredible job giving us more intimate details about theses stars' lives without it being contrived or mushy. His writing really shows these stars as regular people just like the rest of us. -)
Well, gol-ee! After settin' a spell reading Living Room Legends Chats with TV's Famous Faces, you quickly realize author Eddie Lucas is not re-telling some Cinderella story. So make room to reminisce with eleven tube favorites who explain all the behind-the-scenes nun-sense with sheer grace. Baby Boomer TV buddy Lucas is adept at bringing even the most low-key celebs out of their shells for more than just a howdy! While one details her TV lineage, others describe overcoming cartoon and plain images and yet another shows a fang or two. From Mayberry and Beverly Hills to Hooterville and Mockingbird Heights - the back-stories are told and rumors addressed. Be sure to check out Lucas' first book, Close-Ups Conversations with Our TV Favorites, for more stories with past TV icons.
Eddie Lucas's book "Living Room Legends Chats with TV's Famous Faces" is the book to read for me and all those who love "Great TV," of the past.
The great thing about Lucas's first book "Close-ups," and his newest book "Living Room Legends," is that he brings us back to those shows which should "truly never be forgotten." It is a book with a great group of "true stars, celebrities," with Talent.
If you love "Classic TV," then you will definitely know each celebrity in "Living Room Legends," who were gracious enough to give to Lucas their time and attention so he could preserve the history of these beloved celebrities and stars who made TV truly "GREAT."
In 2007, on Stu Shostak's radio internet show (Stu's Show), I was able to call in and speak with Janet Waldo who happens to be in Lucas's book, so that was a fun chapter for me as all the other chapters were.
Lucas had a chance to speak with them and ask questions we would want to ask them if we were able to speak with them and we are lucky to share in their engaging conversations.
Order a copy or two of "Living Room Legends Chats with TV'S Famous Faces," and tell your friends. Lucas doesn't let us down.
If you remember a time of innocent television, when our favorite shows were safe for all kids, then you will love this book. You can find interesting facts about telivision legends that you may have never known otherwise. I bought this one after reading the authors first book Close-Ups, and was once pleased with my purchase. I highly recommend it. Don't forget to check out his first also. Close-Ups
Reading this book was like eating my favorite comfort food. They were fun relaxed visits with some great personalities that I grew up with in my early tv journeys who might never have been on the Carson show but were fascinating in their own way. The author tailored the questions to elicit the best answers from his subjects. It was an entertaining and breezy read.
