When Angela Garner arrives in Turin, Italy, to work at a small English language school for adults, little does she know how her life and emotions will be turned upside down.
Met at the airport by the owner of the school, the handsome Anglo-Italian Antonio Carlucci, she is instantly attracted to him. However, he begins to antagonise her from the start as he doubts her ability to do the job. Having advertised for a teacher at the last minute, now he wonders whether she is experienced or old enough at 23 to teach some of the classes, particularly the businessmen. This only makes Angela more determined to prove her worth and her professionalism.
While Antonio flirts with her and she falls for his charm, he gets engaged - to a beautiful Italian model! Angela, disappointed and downhearted, thinks Antonio can never be hers, but then he makes it clear he wants her to be his lover. Truly in love for the first time, she is on an emotional roller coaster. Fighting her desire for him, not wanting to be the other woman while he plans his marriage, she is unsure whether she can resist him and a proposed weekend in his Alpine cottage ….
This romantic novel gives a flavour of a northern Italian city, the Alpine resorts and the world of teaching English abroad.

Taking her gently by the shoulders, he murmured, “Yesterday I felt you melt in my arms. You wanted me and you have since the first moment you saw me.”
She pulled away and shrugged him off. “You’re very arrogant, Antonio. You think you’re God’s gift to women.”
His eyes glinted sensually. “I’ve known a lot of women and you can’t fool me. That first day you arrived I sensed it – driving back from the airport. You wanted to go to bed with me even then.”
Shocked, she could only say, “That’s not true!”
He shook his head. “Don’t lie to me, Angela. I could sense it like a dog smells fear. I know when a woman wants me. And I wanted you. As soon as I saw you I felt like stripping you naked and ravishing you on the airport floor.”
Shocked into silence for a few moments, Angela then found her tongue. “When we met I thought you didn’t like me!”
“Well, there you are. If you were half as perceptive as me, you’d have sensed it. That’s why I was unsure whether I should have hired you. I knew you represented danger and would distract me. I’ve tried my best to keep my hands off you but yesterday I couldn’t resist any longer.”
His hand slid round her waist and suddenly his mouth took possession of hers, igniting flames deep within her. She responded to his hungry kiss with fervour, the sound of her rapid heartbeat resounding in her ears.
“Let’s go to bed,” he urged. “Let me make love to you.”

I hate writing negative reviews but this really has to be one of them. The h was madly in love with the H after 2 weeks working for him. He then gets engaged to someone else. Back and forth it goes - one minute she is going home, then she stays because he doesn't want her to go. Would I read it again? Definitely a no.Product details

Italian Love Lessons edition by Linda Trevanion Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I enjoyed this book very much, it is well written, the plot kept me hooked and the characters were well formed and believable. I am a fan of Mills and Boon and this was very similar to their books. I am looking forward to the next book from this promising new author, I thoroughly enjoyed it and strongly urge you to buy it, you will not be disappointed!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the escapism of this lovely romance. Really refreshing change that the characters were like real people, warts and all. Not everyone is perfect afer all, which I think the previous reviewer should realise. The hero and heroine of the story had well rounded personalities of their own.
I love a good old Mills & Boon type story, to relax and unwind with and this one really hit the spot. The setting was perfect and the descriptions of the area transported you there.
For a first book, which I think this is from reading the author's page,I am very impressed and looking forward to reading the next one, which I am about to start reading very soon.
Well done Linda and thank you, keep up the good work.
What unbelievable dross. A whiny, silly, immature heroine combined with an overbearing, unreasonable, cheating hero is not the best combination for a romance novel. Maybe this is a good book for people who like stories along the lines of `The arrogant cheating multibillionaire's shy doormat virgin secretary' or other similarly ridiculous titles. I don't, so perhaps I'm slightly prejudiced.
The hero is the most unlikeable character I've read about for a long time. He is engaged to a model but pursues the little 23-year old English teacher, threatening to sack her if she does not become his lover and spend a weekend with him in the Alps. How does she react? Instead of telling him where to shove his job, as any self-respecting woman nowadays would do, the following happens "What can I do, Antonio?" she whined, disconsolately. "You put me in such a difficult situation." Suffice to say, because she looooooves him, she goes along with the blackmail, fully knowing the man is engaged to be married. How does she justify it? Despite thinking earlier on that his threat is a bluff, she then convinces herself that oh, but she was going to be dismissed so there was no choice. TSTL! He then decides not to go through with the `illicit weekend' after all, but following that takes her to his family's cabin after all where he suddenly declares his love only to have his father arrive out of the blue from walking the dog (shouldn't Antonio have spotted his father's car???) and admonish him severely. And so on and so forth. All clichés imaginable are gathered within one book.
I hate writing negative reviews but this really has to be one of them. The h was madly in love with the H after 2 weeks working for him. He then gets engaged to someone else.
